Promote Caldas as a tourist destination, a commitment signed by regional institutions
Manizales, September 29, 2017. Promoting Caldas so that it is among the most striking regions in tourism is the objective of the Government of Caldas, which through the Ministry of Economic Development signed the pact for sustainability in the tourism sector. The event took place at the Multicentro Estrella de Manizales, during the celebration of National Tourism Day.
The purpose of the pact is that there is a commitment from various institutions to sell the 27 municipalities of Caldas as a tourist destination.
According to the Head of the Tourism Unit of the Secretariat for Economic Development, Juan Carlos Méndez, for there to be a sustainable development of the sector there must be planning processes that meet the needs in environmental, economic and social matters.
From now on, these entities will work on a path related to the sustainability of tourism in the region.
Entities such as the Sena, the Catholic University, EMAS, the Caldas Development Corporation, the Manizales Mayor's Office, the Caldas Governor's Office, the Lúker Foundation, Cotelco and Guías de Colombia participate in the alliance.
